Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician

An operation theatre technician is a person who looks after all the work in the operation theatre that is involved with the management of an operation theatre. His/Her work includes managing and organizing all the activities in and around the operation theatre, which include sterlisation, arrangement of operation theatre table, dressing table, anesthesia table, looking after the drugs required for surgery, anesthetic gases, drapes and all the linen and their sterlisation. He/She also assists the surgeon during the operations. Sterlisation and cleaning of operation theatre and management of other staff is also done by him.

The diploma holders of this course are registered as “O.T. Technician” by U.P. State Medical Faculty, Lucknow and are eligible as “O.T. Technician” in Govt. Hospital, Semi Govt. and private hospitals & can work as private practitioner.
